188th Fighter Wing celebrates 60th anniversary
Current and former 188th Fighter Wing members as well as well as Congressional, city and civic leaders attended the 188th’s 60th anniversary jubilee Nov. 2, 2013 at the unit’s Ebbing Air National Guard Base, Fort Smith, Ark. The 188th hosted the event in its main hangar to celebrate 60 years of excellence. The 188th marked 60 years as an Air National Guard unit Oct. 15. The unit began as the 184th Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron in 1953. More than 1,000 people attended the event. (U.S. Air National Guard photo illustration by 1st Lt.
