EBBING AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, Ark. -- Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force Kaleth O. Wright met with Airmen and hosted an all call during a visit Oct. 6, 2019, at Ebbing Air National Guard Base, Ark.
While at Ebbing ANGB, Wright learned how the Airmen of the 188th Wing effectively and efficiently accomplish their mission.
“Thank you for being the extreme warriors, and professionals, that you are,” said Wright. “It means a lot to me and I know it means a lot to the team.”
Wright started his visit by sitting down with squadron chiefs and superintendents for a mission capabilities briefing and to highlight the wing's accomplishments.
Continuing his visit, Wright met with multiple units across the installation including the 188th Medical Group, 188th Security Forces Squadron, and 188th Operations Group where he saw their intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities firsthand.
“I had no idea of the great work you were doing all over the world, Wright said. "It was a pleasant surprise. When I get back to the Pentagon, I’m going to sit down with my superiors and spread the word about the work you all are doing here.”
To round out his visit, Wright hosted an all-call for the enlisted members where he spoke about the future of the enlisted force, changes taking place, and his priorities for his last year as the Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force.
During the all-call, Wright spoke passionately about suicide prevention and encouraged Airmen who were struggling to reach out and seek help. He challenged them to be the kind of Airman who embraces and elevates others to build a culture of support.
“I was asked recently what keeps me up at night," he said. "Without a doubt, it’s suicides and the level of grit and resilience our Airmen have. We can all be better human beings. We can all take time to connect.”
While many different topics were discussed, Wright continued to press the importance of overall wingmanship and treating each other as family.
