Chief Master Sergeant Scott W. Manamon

CMSgt Scott W. Manamon is the Command Chief Master Sergeant at the 188th Wing, Ebbing Air National Guard Base, Fort Smith, Ark. He serves as a member of the commander's staff to advise and assist in matters concerning enlisted members of the command or organization. He advises the wing commander on issues affecting the morale, welfare, and effectiveness of the wing’s approximately 850 enlisted members. He serves as a two-way conduit of information between the wing commander and the enlisted force. The chief also advises the commander on matters that could adversely impact enlisted personnel, with the objective of minimizing issues which could negatively affect mission readiness. Additionally, he works closely with other chief master sergeants, first sergeants, senior non-commissioned officers, and commanders across the wing.

The chief enlisted in the United States Navy in September 1986. He completed the Naval Steelworkers A school in February 1987. In March 1992, he enlisted into the Air National Guard at Cape Cod, Mass., and graduated from avionics technical training in December 1992. In August 2008, converted with his wing to the intelligence mission and cross-trained as an Operations Intelligence Specialist, where he received the Top Graduate Award. In October 2015, Manamon transferred to the 188th Wing to provide guidance and support during the wing wide conversion from A-10’s to the intelligence mission.

CMSgt Manamon served over six years as a steelworker with the Seabees with deployments to Sicily, Japan, Bahamas, Western Samoa, Fiji, and Papua New Guinea. During the chief’s time as an Operations Intelligence Specialist, he was crew-qualified as Tactical Communicator, Multi-Source Analyst and Instructor and evaluator supporting the MQ-1 Predator, MQ-9 Reaper, and MC-12 Liberty and as a Correlation Analyst supporting the U2 Dragon Lady and the RQ-4 Global Hawk. Chief Master Sgt. Manamon served extended temporary duty assignments to Langley Air Force Base, Ramstein AFB, Bolling AFB, and the Pentagon where he provided timely, accurate operational intelligence support to contingencies worldwide and fully trained intelligence personnel during peacetime and contingency operations. Prior to his current position, Chief Manamon was the Senior Enlisted Leader of the 123rd Intelligence Squadron, Ebbing Air National Guard Base, Fort Smith, Ark.
