Lt. Col. Sara A Stigler assumed command of the 188th Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Group during a ceremony held here June 2, 2018.

Stigler, a career intelligence officer, has previously served as the Chief of Wing Intelligence as well as commanded both the 153rd and 123rd Intelligence Squadrons.

“I know that we have great people, and we’re going to push our mission forward,” Stigler said. “We couldn’t do our mission without the support of everybody in the entire wing, and we really appreciate all the efforts of those groups on base — without it, our mission would fail.”

188th Wing Commander, Col. Robert I. Kinney, expressed his confidence in Stigler’s leadership for the group’s Airmen

“Lt. Col. Stigler has been a vital part of the [ISR Group] from the beginning, and knows this group better than anyone,” said Kinney. “Without a doubt, she’s the right person at the right time, and I’m excited to have her at the helm.”

The 188th ISR Group’s mission includes near-real time processing, exploitation, analysis and dissemination of information and data from a number of sources. The unit creates decision-quality actionable intelligence that is disseminated to air, ground and naval force component commanders around the world for use in the planning and execution of military operations across the spectrum of conflict.
