Conversion excursion: Tail No. 586 departs 188th for new home

Tech Sgt. Shawn Thorne, a crew chief with the 188th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, checks the brakes on an A-10C Thunderbolt II "Warthog" (Tail No. 586). The aircraft left Ebbing Air National Guard Base, Fort Smith, Arkansas. The aircraft was delivered from the 188th Fighter Wing to Moody Air Force Base, Georgia, April 18, 2014, as part of the 188th's mission conversion from the A-10 to a remotely piloted aircraft, intelligence and targeting mission.
