188th Fighter Wing celebrates 60th anniversary

Pilots with the 188th Fighter Wing give onlookers an A-10C Thunderbolt II capabilities briefing Nov. 2, 2013 at the 188th’s Ebbing Air National Guard Base, Fort Smith, Ark. The 188th hosted a 60th anniversary jubilee in its main hangar to celebrate 60 years of excellence. The 188th marked 60 years as an Air National Guard unit Oct. 15. The unit began as the 184th Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron in 1953. Current and former unit members as well as Congressional, city and civic leaders attended the event.
