The Flying Razorback Spotlight - 188th F-4s take top prize at Fangsmoke 1985

The April 2015 The Flying Razorback Flashback features the pilots and maintainers of the former 188th Tactical Fighter Group. This group took home first place at Fangsmoke in 1985. The competition was held at Shelby Range near Gulfport, Miss. The competition featured F-4 Phantom pilots competing in tactical ordnance delivery and bombing as well as low-angle strafe passes. The 188th led the way scoring a total of 3,262 points out of 4,000 and finished 61 points ahead of the next placed team. The 188th Wing flew F-4s from 1979 until 1988. (Courtesy photo)
