Lt Col Peter Mudge is the Commander of the 188th Medical Group, 188th Wing, Ebbing Air National Guard (ANG) Base, Fort Smith, Arkansas. He advises Wing and Group Commanders on medical operations and maintains medical readiness for 1,018 Airmen. He is appointed the Wing Process Manager for Continuous Improvement and Innovation. He is also the Medical Service Corp chair for the Air National Guard Medical Field Advisory Council (MEDFAC).
He enlisted in the US Air Force on October 10, 2000. He graduated in May of 2001 from Aerospace Propulsion Technical School Sheppard Air Force Base (AFB), Texas. The Colonel attended University of Maryland and graduated with Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He later received a direct commission as a Medical Service Corps Officer in May 2007. The Colonel served Active duty 2000-2004 and has served in the ANG since 2004.
The Colonel has over 18 years of leadership experience in the healthcare industry and has served in 8 assignment locations in 3 different countries. During July 2010, he deployed to Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan as assistant Officer in Charge (OIC) of the aeromedical evacuation operation team (AEOT) in support of the NATO International Security Assistance Force (ISAF). The Colonel has served as a global health engagement (GHE) Officer in Botswana, Africa and Guatemala. The Colonel is a contingency/war medical planner and has deployed three times in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom, and the State Partnership Program. Prior to his current position the Colonel was the 188th Wing Medical Administrative Officer at Ebbing Airfield ANG Arkansas.
