Deadline for Outstanding Service Award nominations fast approaching

It is again that time of year for individuals to select and nominate individuals for the 2009 188th Fighter Wing Outstanding Service Awards. The categories are: Airmen, Noncommissioned Officer, Senior Noncommissioned Officer, Officer, First Sergeant, Family Volunteer and Honor Guard. 

Completed AF Form 1206 is due to the 188th Military Personnel Flight by close of business Sept. 13, which is during the 188th's Unit Training Assembly. 

The winners of these categories will go on to State Headquarters to compete for Arkansas Air National Guard Airmen of the Year and then compete for the National Outstanding Airmen of the Year. 

The top level Outstanding Airmen, NCO, SNCO, Officer, First Sgt., Family Volunteer and Honor Guard member will be publicly recognized and awarded a trophy. The subsequent level award will consist of a plaque and public recognition. The award will consist of up to two depending on nominations. 

Third level accolades will be awarded to all with substantial nomination packages. Third lever award recipients will receive public recognition and a certificate. 

The dates of nomination are from Sept. 1, 2008 to Aug. 31, 2009. To nominate an Airman please complete Air Force Form 1206. All nominees must have a passing physical fitness score of 75 or higher. 

The required categories are: Leadership and job performance in primary duty, significant self improvement, base or community involvement.
