188th Wing strives to reach higher goals set for CFC donations Published Nov. 23, 2016 By Senior Airman Cody Martin 188th Wing Public Affairs EBBING AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, Ark. -- The 188th Wing has set a goal of $15,000 in donations with the Combined Federal Campaign of Greater Arkansas, as well as having at least 25 percent of the unit pledged, by the end of 2016. The CFC supports and promotes philanthropy through a voluntary program that is employee-focused, cost-efficient and effective in providing all federal employees the opportunity to improve the quality of life for everyone in their communities. On average, the CFC has raised over $1 million per year and supports over 125 local and international charity organizations. "The 188th has amazing support from the community," said 1st Lt. Phillip Stevens, 188th Wing assistant executive officer and wing CFC coordinator. "Through the CFC, we are provided with a way to give back to the area." Donors can contribute money to organizations throughout the nation, as well as in the local community. Local Fort Smith CFC organizations include United Way of Fort Smith, the Susan G. Komen Ozark Affiliate and the Sebastian County Humane Society. Donating through the CFC can also yield awards. Based on the amount given, the CFC will send various products, ranging from smartphone car holsters and water bottles to roll-up blankets and trophies. Agencies may also be rewarded for the percentage of participation and average donations per capita. For any questions about the CFC or to donate, 188th unit members may contact Stevens at 479-573-5585 or contact their CFC representatives. Mission Support Group: Communications Flight: Tech. Sgt.
